These sweet parents and I have a long-ish history. Mom and I grew up together, and dad I met while we were both band nerds. (Yes, confession time, I was a band nerd!) It’s so amazing how small the world actually is and when people you know from different worlds come together. These two are expecting a girl, which was perfect for mom’s favorite colors, pink & purple.
Although mom chose a few gowns with similar silhouettes, we were able to create entirely different looks with each. We combined different backgrounds, posing, and props (in the case of the ladder) to give each look a different feel. Mom was game for anything, and I absolutely love that she looks like a grecian goddess with the floral headpiece.
As the baby’s nursery is in lavender shades, we will incorporate the lavender gown into the newborn session. We’ve already got some ideas that will match her room perfectly!

I mean, how much of a goddess is she in these images?
Maternity sessions are so important in capturing this miraculous time in a family’s life. The female body during pregnancy is so amazing. Having had two babies already, I am in constant awe of what our bodies are capable of. We are able to create and nurture life, and when baby arrives, we just marvel at how they could have possibly lived within us for so long.

When we did their portrait reveal, they chose to house this collection in a gorgeous customized album.
