I will start by saying, that I absolutely love it when dad takes the time to make family photos happen and plan it all out. From the first phone call with this sweet dad, it was impossible not to feel the warmth and love he had for his family. He told me all about where he had grown up, his three grown children, and the newest baby on the way. His overall excitement about his wife and growing family was contagious and made me want to meet them all. It was impossible not to want to photograph this family! He told me about the plans for the portraits; their home was in need of some images celebrating their family, with a location prominently displayed on an open hallway wall.
Although we’d been wary of the ever-changing forecast of rain for the day, we ended up with the most beautiful of fall days, and no rain ever materialized.
Their bond was incredible. You can tell so many things about people simply by the way they interact, speak, and even look at each other. All three siblings were a joy, and made me want to photograph MORE adult children. You could just feel the warmth and love emanating between all of them the entire time. And can we talk about Calvin, their doggo? He was the star of the show – people kept stopping us and commenting on his orange puffer vest.
We captured images with intention, and I am so happy they will be a constant reminder of this day in their home.
