Some client stories come full circle in the most unexpected and beautiful ways. Years ago, I had the pleasure of connecting with this sweet couple when they were planning some couples portraits. They were looking for beautiful imagery of the two of them, and at the time, I had a wonderful photographer friend whose work specialized in romantic, polished couples’ portraits. Knowing her style would be a perfect fit for what they envisioned, I happily sent them her way.
A few years, and two babies later, they found their way back to me — this time with their adorable little girl and their brand-new baby boy in tow. There is something especially meaningful about welcoming clients into the studio after such a big chapter of life has unfolded. What started as a referral years ago had somehow brought us back together to document this next chapter of their family story.

Their newborn session was filled with the sweetest mix of tender family moments and the lively personality of a precocious big sister. She was absolutely adorable and brought plenty of charm and character to their portraits, while her baby brother was, quite simply, a dream. He was so content throughout the session, making it possible to capture all those beautiful newborn details and genuine connections between him, his parents, and his big sister.
For styling, Mom gravitated toward a simpler, more timeless aesthetic. We kept the color palette soft and cohesive with beautiful neutrals and shades of blue, allowing the focus to remain on their family and the connection between them. The result was clean, classic, and effortlessly beautiful.

One of the most meaningful parts of their session came at the very end. Because their son had spent time in the NICU, Mom hadn’t had the opportunity to capture some of those simple, everyday hospital photographs that so many parents treasure. We wanted to create a few images that would evoke that feeling for her — the tiny details, the sweetness of those very first days, and the reality of having a brand-new baby in your arms.
So we finished their session with a few intentionally simple portraits: baby in his personalized name onesie, wrapped snugly, pacifier nearby, and those precious newborn details on full display. Nothing elaborate, just the kind of images that feel like a glimpse into those fleeting first days.
It was such a pleasure to finally work with this family and to have the opportunity to document them at such a meaningful point in their story. From wedding plans to a growing family of four, their session was a wonderful reminder of how special it is when photography allows relationships to come full circle — and how honored I am when families trust me to preserve these memories for them.
