As I was thinking of the words to write about these two wonderful mamas, I remembered something they wrote in their review about their session. That they felt comfortable, and accepted because they saw other same sex couples on my page. This is hugely important to me, that everyone feels seen, accepted, represented. Families come in all shapes and sizes, and everyone is deserving of the same love, of the same opportunities to have, grow, and nurture their own families. We are all different, but we all want the same goal- for our children to grow up in a better world. One with more acceptance and more love for every person.
Two of my new mamas recently wrote in a post welcoming their new baby girl, “You’ll grow up in a family that is different from others, but trust that with confidence, kindness, and a strong will – you will be capable of anything.” Isn’t that just insanely true of what we want for all of our children? Confidence, kindness, a home that nurtures, a home filled with love. Sharae and Keevi were just so in love with each other – they even made a little video during their session talking about baby’s modeling debut in the womb. Their appreciation of each other was immense and extraordinary, and they are ever so excited about their baby girl. My whole soul went to jelly with these two moms and all of the love I felt floating around the room. If these photos aren’t evidence to their little girl of their pure, adoring love, I don’t know what is. Sharae is a sparkling soul in these images, but the ones with her and Keevi together just truly have my heart.
I am so privileged to be a part of all families who choose me to document these enormous, blessed changes in their lives. Thank you, thank you, thank you! To witness magical, sparkling love across all stages of life. Even more so when clients choose me because they feel comfortable and accepted. Love is love.
