There is something truly special about celebrating a growing family, especially when you already have a little one eagerly waiting to become a big sister. This gorgeous maternity session was all about elegance, bold styling, and a little extra sparkle, creating a collection of fine art maternity portraits that celebrated both the beauty of pregnancy and the personalities that make this family so wonderful.
Mom envisioned a sophisticated black-and-white aesthetic with a pop of pink and plenty of sparkle. From there, we built the session around her outfit choices, creating a series of striking portraits that felt glamorous, timeless, and uniquely hers. One of my favorite parts of a custom maternity session is watching each look come together and seeing how a change in wardrobe, lighting, or backdrop can completely transform the final image.
Mom was the picture of elegance in a bold black ensemble, complete with a coordinating bow that added the perfect finishing touch. Her all-white looks brought an entirely different kind of magic, highlighting her natural radiance and giving her the regal presence. And, of course, we couldn’t leave out a little sparkle! A stunning two-piece look was absolutely breathtaking on her, adding just the right amount of glamour to her maternity portraits.
But this session wasn’t just about celebrating a beautiful mama. Mom and Dad brought along their adorable little pixie, who is preparing to take on one of life’s sweetest roles: big sister!
With her daddy’s unmistakable smile and a personality that could fill an entire room, she was an absolute delight. She brought so much character to the session, and her comfort in front of the camera was undeniable. Whether she was dressed in one of her princess gowns or showing off her sparkling personality, she was completely in her element. Naturally, we had to make sure her wardrobe matched her energy!
Since this family is preparing to welcome another little girl, we incorporated beautiful shades of pink into the session. These softer, sweeter tones created the perfect contrast to the dramatic black-and-white portraits while tying everything together beautifully. The resulting mom-and-me portraits were especially precious, capturing the connection between a mother and her first daughter before their family grows once more. We also created a joyful family portrait that celebrates the love they already share and the little girl who will soon make their family complete.
I have no doubt that this newest little girl will steal the show just as effortlessly as her big sister. Until then, these portraits preserve such a meaningful chapter in their family’s story: the anticipation, the excitement, and the beauty of a mama preparing to meet her second daughter.
