When this sweet mom called me to book a family session, I never expected to be so thoroughly enchanted by her ten year old Disney princess of a daughter! She was like a magical little sprite, whose joy was so contagious. She was taller than me, and so yet so childlike and giggly, I couldn’t help but want to keep her!
She was also just completely in love with her family, and there was just such an amazing connection between the three of them. If I had a “little” girl, I’d want her to be just like Kai.
When we discussed their photos, mom also wanted to capture some engagement style photos between her and dad, since they missed the opportunity to do so when they first got engaged. We were able to capture some intimate images of the two of them together, but overall this photoshoot was a celebration of their family! I absolutely adore the images of Kai by herself, you can see what I mean by her radiating joy. She was so poised for a ten year old too!
Mom had mentioned that they spend a lot of time in nature and that the reservation was special to them. So what better than to take their photos at Watchung Reservation?
For those of you contemplating a family session with an older child, don’t hesitate. This is amazing proof that any age is the perfect timing for a family session together. It is not something to just be reserved for toddlers and babies!
These stunning images are going into a custom album for them to enjoy forever!

Final Artwork
This family’s gorgeous session went into a beautiful linen and leatherette album, complete with an Amalfi panel of their little girl.
