I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a beautiful newborn baby girl for one of my longtime clients, and this session was extra special. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of capturing milestones for this wonderful family, and now, their sweet little girl has joined the picture! Big brother, a delightful and mischievous toddler, was full of energy, and he couldn’t have been more excited about his new baby sister. As always, he kept me on my toes with his playful antics, but was also clearly very much into his new baby. His personality truly shone through in every shot, making for some incredibly memorable moments.
For this session, Mom had a clear vision in mind. She requested soft touches of pink and purple, wanting the colors to complement their baby girl’s nursery (and some of moms’ favorite colors from her maternity session). One of the standout requests was for more nontraditional, black-themed posed family portraits. We embraced a bold, dramatic aesthetic for the family shots, with formal black against a chic grey backdrop that made the family’s connection pop. It was a beautiful contrast to the other tones of their baby girl’s individual portraits and gave the session a sophisticated feel. I especially loved the purple with the black in the floral shot of baby girl herself!
