This sweet family (with precocious little girl), booked in for a last minute spot in my calendar and it turned out to be magical. Mom was a joy and her little girl had the absolute most fabulous hair! She was as five year old little girls are, twirling and swirling in little pink gowns and flitting about like a butterfly. She’s in ballet, and that is so evident in the cute little feet she was pointing in her poses.
Mom said black was her favorite color and I love the striking portraits we created for her. We even took a few minutes to capture some sweet shots of dad and his little girl. I do think, and we can agree, that mom looks absolutely glowing in mauve as well! The wings were a suggestion by dad – I know he’s living his Victoria’s Secret dreams with this one! Mom was definitely feeling herself in the sparkles and wings.
You know, it’s so amazing for me when I see the switch in moms during their sessions. For the most part, they come in totally relying on you for posing guidance and maybe a little unsure of themselves. But somewhere, in the middle of it all, you just see the change, the transformation. There is ALWAYS a moment when they just fully come into themselves and own everything about how they are feeling in that moment and it shows. I’ll see the little shoulder pop, the extra hip bump, the genuine, comfortable smile come out, and it makes me feel extra good too.
