As a mom of two boys, there is a special place in my heart for photographing these bubbly, often mischievous balls of energy. Seven and eight year olds are silly, funny, have the brightest smiles and biggest laughs, and sometimes find it hard to hold it together for a more formal portrait. And that is part of the fun, the real expressions are what we are looking for, the ones that showcase their personalities.
Communion portraits are such a perfect time to photograph your child. They are still very much your little baby, but you see a little peek of the young person they will become. This little boy was just absolutely adorable – look at his smile! I think he was amazing, and we really tested his patience with a few different sets. The little details were important for mom to feature so we made sure to have poses with his rosary, bible, and the communion arm-band from his Church.
