There is something so magical about outdoor maternity sessions. They can be trickier at times than studio sessions. With unpredictable lighting (and weather), but with the right posing, light management, and editing, the final images are just glorious.
This sweet pair is expecting a baby boy, and they had me laughing the entire time. Their energy was loving, sweet, and I always appreciate a bit of goofiness on the side. Mom was an absolute queen, and brought along mom to help too. Can you believe her mom did her hair, old-school style with aluminum foil??? I couldn’t believe it, it looked glorious!
Mom chose paler neutral tones of sage, taupe, and white, and we ended the session with some golden hour in the water. I think the subtley sparkly sequin tulle was just a kiss of sunshine on this mom and highlighted her curves spectacularly. My absolute favorite shot of her (while probably not the most comfortable), is the one of her lounging on the rocks on the water’s edge. She looks like an absolute dream of a mermaid!
