This adorable family came to me from another one of my lovely clients, whom I adore! They are lucky to have such amazing friends, and I am lucky that they would be referred to me for their new little baby boy! Mom and dad are just stunning, and their little one was a big pile of squishy goodness! He had cheeks for days and was just so well-behaved, it was an absolute dream. He was just perfection for all of the photos with his parents, and did well on his own too.
I always appreciate when dad’s take an interest in the planning of their family’s session. I loved that Dad was super involved in all of the planning prior to their session. He was amazing at communicating with me what they both wanted for the outcome of their portraits. It was a great experience for us all, and I couldn’t be happier that they love the images we created together!
Newborn Session Portrait Goals
There were a few hit points aside from the family portraits that we set out to achieve the day of. Some macro shots, especially with baby toes closeup, baby on a “swing”, and the light aqua basket prop shot. We were able to get those and many more to celebrate this new little boy’s first days!
I always appreciate when parents choose the close-up macro shots of their new baby’s perfect details, the fingers, toes, and button-noses.
Parents just loved the dimension of baby wrapped and sitting within the layers of textured furs, as below.
How sweet is this little smile? What a charming little boy!
We focused a big part of this little boy’s session on parent images. For baby, we stuck with a more neutral palette, with a pop of some blues.
It is recommended to book your newborn session in your early third trimester to ensure availability with your photographer.
