There’s something incredibly special about welcoming a returning client back into the studio—especially when you’ve already documented the very beginning of their motherhood journey. This beautiful mama first stepped in front of my lens during her first pregnancy, with looks that alluded to her baby’s celestial-inspired name and story. One of those images went on to receive a silver award at one of the world’s most prestigious photography competitions—an honor that still feels surreal and so well deserved.
This time, her vision has gently shifted. While the magic remains, it’s taken on a more grounded, earthy tone—like stepping out of the stars and into a quiet, enchanted forest. For her baby boy, we leaned into soft sages, muted greens, warm golds, and flowing fabrics. The entire session felt organic and ethereal, echoing the “into the forest” theme she’s creating for her baby’s nursery with her chosen colors. We did choose to end the session with two more modern looks in a smoldering jeweled set and matching fresh whites for mom and her little girl
What made this session even more meaningful was the addition of her daughter. Watching her step into the role of big sister brought a new layer of emotion to every frame. There was a tenderness in the way she held her mother’s belly, a quiet curiosity, and a natural connection that can’t be staged. We were also treated to many a musical performance from her, using my phone stand as her open mic!
It’s always an honor to witness a family growing, but to be invited back to document another chapter is something truly special. This session felt like a continuation of a story we began years ago—only now, it’s deeper, richer, and rooted in something beautifully real.
