Newborn sessions are always special, but when a family brings in personal touches the images become even more powerful. When mom reached out for her baby’s first portraits, she knew she wanted to incorporate a few bold colors. Red was a talking point for color, just as she had in her maternity and engagement sessions. The funny thing? She never considered herself a “red kind of girl.” But after seeing how incredible she looked in this bold color, I’d have to disagree! The dramatic red gown she wore while snuggling her baby is just full of joy!
Beyond the bold reds, we infused vibrant blues and greens throughout the session, bringing an energy and richness to the portraits that felt uniquely theirs. These colors framed their baby boy so beautifully, highlighting every tiny feature and making each image pop with life. The little toes around the heart, the adorable closeup of his little smile, all beautiful moments.
Mom also brought along two special items for her son’s first photos. A teddy bear from baby’s nursery, and a well known “plumber” which honors his grandfather. The way baby snuggled up with his little friend made for some of the most meaningful images for mom. For his little bear, we worked together to create this sweet image, with her own little hunny. I always love to incorporate personal touches into babies’ sessions, and this was no exception.
This session was a perfect reflection of the love for this little boy. I am so honored to have captured these first moments and can’t wait to see how baby grows in a home filled with so much love. Aand of course, I’m sure, a touch of red!
