After the celebration
Some stories deserve to be told twice. This lovely family reached out to me after their wedding day! Mom had expressed to me that while the day was absolutely beautiful and full of joy, that the bustle and busyness of the day prevented them from some more poised photography. With three children, one of which is a toddler, it was a wonderfully full, albeit wonderfully long day. Mom didn’t just want photos, she wanted legacy portraits — a relaxed environment conducive to creating imagery to live on their walls. So we created a setting that felt calm. Elevated. Un-rushed. A space where the focus shifted away from timelines and toward connection. The result was a collection of images that reflect not just a wedding — but a family.
Their children are nothing short of amazing. Big sister is a beauty, with a sense of serenity and poise that can steady the room around her. Mom shared the sweet wedding toasts that both sisters made on their parents’ wedding day; heartfelt words shared with love that would make anyone melt. Baby brother was a puddle of love, with wild curls and a feisty, impossibly affectionate personality He melted into mom during the session, and time stopped with this moment for her. These photos are something she will treasure forever.
The wedding was simply a milestone — a public declaration of something that had already existed for years. These five have been a solid unit long before vows were exchanged. The ceremony was not the beginning; it was the culmination. A celebration of everything they had already built together — love, partnership, and family. Weddings are beautiful, but legacy lives forever.
