This sweet newborn session was full of meaning from beginning to end, with tie-ins to mom’s maternity session from a few weeks earlier. From the nods to their sweet angel babies, and this darling rainbow baby, to the personal elements we added in, everything was chosen with thought and care. When we had first spoken, mom did not know whether she was having a boy or a girl, but expressed that if it was a girl, that a 3 generation portrait with baby, herself, and grandma, was a priority. Her wish came true, and we mirrored one of her maternity portraits with her own mother, now with their little miracle baby! The angel wings and heart are symbolic of their other angel babies, and we even incorporated mom’s bridal veil into baby’s photos, and got a sweet little smile to boot.
Service is incredibly important to this couple, so their other wish was to have photos with baby in dad’s uniform. I love that this highlights the protector roll with the strength of the uniform against this tiny, squishy, delightful baby. Dad will forever be her greatest warrior and protector. As with her maternity session, the darker tones, just further bring your eye to this family’s love and tenderness with their new baby. A celebration, and blessing, in newborn photos, to be forever treasured.
